Competition Entry: Winner

This project seeks to virtually modify the geometrical quality of one silo through the draping of a simple gradient pattern. This pattern, designed in the shape of an hourglass, will perceptually"taper" the middle of the silo inward through the patterned shadow image. The pattern is built of nothing more than simple black dots of varying sizes, arranged in such a way as to project the sort of shaded quality one would find on a tapered, cylindrical surface.

This project was selected for inclusion in the "Stored Potentials" installation in Omaha, Nebraska, and is tentatively scheduled to be installed in the fall of 2010.
